32TEN Studios recently hosted the Movie Makers Throughout the Bay (MMTB) 2012 Annual Awards ceremony, which was held in the historic 32TEN Theater. In addition, the studio has also begun playing host to its new series of regularly held Indie Showcase Screenings, presenting a variety of independently produced films shot in and around the Bay Area.

 The Model Shop at 32TEN Studios, a San Rafael (Marin-) based company that provides production facilities and VFX services to entertainment, advertising, and corporate clientele, has been extremely busy recently, working on a variety of film, TV and commercial projects. One of these was the Model Shop team building the sets used within a stop-motion animated, national TV spot promoting Kraft Foods’ new Honey Maid’s Grahamfuls product. The spot has just launched.

A group of artists and technologists that helped bring “Davy Jones” to life in “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and made everyone’s favorite childhood robots leap into action in “Transformers,” have launched a new studio based in Marin County, CA. The men, formerly Creature and Character Designers from ILM, Digital Domain, and Imagemovers Digital, have launched "Creature Art and Mechanics Digital” (CAM Digital or CAMd). The announcement was made today by the new company’s founding partners Scott C. Smith, Timothy Naylor, Andrea Maiolo and Chad Vernon.
