News: Christie Mirage 4K Projector Screens Douglas Trumbull's 'UFOTOG' Premiere In 3D 4K At 120 Frames Per SecondFilmmaker and Visual Effects legend Douglas Trumbull is partnering with Christie® on May 11 to premiere UFOTOG, a dramatic 10-minute experimental sci-fi story about a lone man attempting to photograph UFOs. Directed by Trumbull and created in 4K 3D at 120 frames per second (fps), the short film will be screened on a Christie® Mirage 4K35, the world’s first and only 4K DLP® resolution projector running at a true 120Hz, at the Seattle Cinerama Theater’s 2nd Annual Sci-Fi Film Festival.

In a cinematic first, Trumbull shot the film in stereoscopic 3D at 4K resolution and at a camera speed of 120 frames per second. JMR’s unique server and storage solution was used on the set to collect, manage, playback and edit the huge amounts of image data produced during the making of the film.
