Oscar limelight shines on Global Cinematography Institute Program of “Expanded Cinematography”
“The goal of the Global Cinematography Institute is to prepare cinematographers, postgraduate students and veteran filmmakers to take advantage of on-going advances in digital and virtual cinematography technologies.”
For cinematographers, visual effects artists and to all who are involved primarily in the imaging side of the filmmaking, two award categories are the most important: Cinematography and Visual Effects. This year’s Oscar for achievements in those fields was awarded to distinguished artists who worked on the same film – “ Life of Pi”. Academy Award for the Cinematography was won by Claudio Miranda, ASC, and Bill Westenhofer, Guillaume Rocheron, Erik-Jan De Boer and Donald R. Elliott won the Oscar for Visual Effects.
