At the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) annual convention, Panasonic has unveiled its third-generation VariCam® HD production camera, and a new 31” LCD production monitor with native 4K resolution for 4K/2K/HD cinema production. The recently announced AJ-PX5000G and AJ-PD500, the company’s first P2 HD camcorder and recorder with native AVC-ULTRA recording and built-in microP2 card slots, will be shown for the first time here.

Griffin Communications, L.L.C.’s Oklahoma City television station News 9 KWTV recently acquired a new state-of-the-art Bell 407 helicopter equipped with Fujinon’s HA42x13.5BERD HDTV ENG-Style zoom lens. Mounted on the nose of this new helicopter called SKYNEWS9 HD, is a customized Flir Ultra Media HD camera enclosure, designed by Flir Systems, which houses a Sony HDC-F950 1080i HD ENG camera with the Fujinon HD zoom lens.

Fujinon is announcing that Griffin Communications station KWTV NEWS 9, the CBS affiliate in Oklahoma City, OK and its sister station KOTV, the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, OK have purchased 29 A18X7.6BERM SD Zoom lenses for use in its daily electronic news gathering (ENG); as well as one A13X4.5BERM SD Zoom lens for electronic field production (EFP).
