(NAB 2005, Las Vegas, NV -Booth SL 4045) Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, today announced that Boris FX LTD for Vegas will be bundled with Sony Digital Picture Vegas Video nonlinear editing system. This limited version of Boris FX is designed to work exclusively with Sony Digital Pictures Vegas Video. Boris FX LTD for Vegas includes two filters, the Stabilizer and the Chroma Keyer, which work as a standalone application. These two filters are taken from Boris FX, the industry standard for integrated effects creation.
Boris FX LTD for Vegas is a standalone application that uses a similar interface as the full version of the Boris FX plug-in. Instead of rendering in your NLE timeline, Boris FX LTD exports files as QuickTime or AVI. Vegas Video provides an all-in-one professional solution for editing and finishing on the PC platform. With a reputation for pristine broadcast video and high-fidelity audio output, Vegas software provides an integrated solution for scalable DV production, sound editing, mixing, surround sound production, and more. “The full version of Boris FX gives editors access to advanced compositing features such as apply modes, motion blur, particles, lighting effects, and motion tracking directly in their NLE timeline,” says Boris FX founder and president Boris Yamnitsky. "Boris FX LTD for Vegas provides Vegas Video editors with an introduction to these powerful features.
The Chroma Key provides precise compositing for clips shot using a blue, green, or red screen as a backdrop. The Motion Stabilizer filter allows you to stabilize shaky video footage. The Stabilizer uses motion trackers to analyze one or more specified regions of motion and then adjusts the track’s position point to compensate. During playback, the motion appears smooth because the track moves incrementally to offset the unwanted motion. You can also stabilize just a portion of a track to correct isolated camera bumps.
Vegas Video users can upgrade to the full version of Boris FX. FX includes realistic lighting, advanced keying and color correction, compositing, DVE, vector paint and support for third-party After Effects filters. More than 60 filters include motion tracking, as well as self-animating natural effects that interact with timeline video. In addition, FX includes the KeyFramer, a standalone application that creates effects offline using any computer.
A new release of FX, version 8.0, and other Boris solutions will be demonstrated at the National Association of Broadcasting Convention (NAB) 2005 in booth SL4045 in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 18-21, 2005. Boris solutions will also be shown in the Avid Developer Community booth SL1210A.
