(Woodland Hills, CA, August 24, 2005) Dalsa Digital Cinema, a camera rental facility owned by Dalsa, recently purchased a new Fujinon HAe10x10 HD zoom lens, one of Fujinon's "Cine Super E" Series lenses for digital cinematography.
Dalsa Digital Cinema has added the HAe10x10 HD zoom to its already impressive inventory of Fujinon lenses that accompany rentals of SD and HD cameras, from mini-DV to HD formats, for television and film productions.
"Demand is very strong for this lens," said Lisa Sotolongo, Operations Director, Dalsa Digital Cinema, "We've had a lot of customers looking to rent it, and they're thrilled that we have it. And we have clients who have not specifically asked for the HAe10x10 HD zoom by name, but when they find out that they'll be getting it, they're very excited. It has an excellent reputation."
Since the Fujinon HAe10x10 lens arrived just last month, Sotolongo says it's only been in-house one day, for processing into their inventory. It's already been used for shooting "For Heaven's Sake," an independent feature film, produced by Olliewood Films, that used this lens exclusively on a Sony F900 24p HD camcorder. "This client is planning to do many more features, and they'll definitely be using this lens again," said Sotolongo.
The HAe10x10 was also used to shoot episodes of "Noah's Ark," a new television series for LOGO, Viacom's new basic cable network currently reaching 18 million homes. ""Noah's Ark" aspires to very high-end, broadcast production values," said Sotolongo. "While the production is shooting with SD cameras, by using this precision HD lens with feature film style lighting, the finished product is enhanced. A better lens gives you a better image no matter what format you're shooting."
Dalsa Digital Cinema is leading the growing trend towards producing television shows and independent films in HD. "To meet growing customer demand, we're planning to buy more HAe10x10 lenses, as well as other Fujinon E-Series lenses in the near future,"says Sotolongo.
"Compared to the competitors' cine-style lenses, the HAe10x10 is a much better quality lens," says Sotolongo. "We also like working with Fujinon, and we get excellent service from our representative, Miles Shozuya. Over the last three years, we've gone exclusively with Fujinon lenses, and we are extremely happy with the results."
With a 10-100mm focal lens and 10X zoom ratio, the HAe10x10 was specifically designed to provide 2/3-inch CCD HD digital video cameras with precise, aberration-free images. All lenses in the "Cine Super E" series have adopted an inner focus and floating method for the lens focus structure to minimize focus breathing to a level that does not interfere with imaging. And they meet every optical performance requirement for moviemaking, such as reduced fluctuation in angular field of view during focusing and a short Minimum Object Distance (MOD).
