(SALT LAKE CITY--BUSINESS WIRE--Aug. 29, 2005) Sorenson Media® today announced that Sorenson Squeeze® 4.2 Compression Suite for Windows and Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 for Macromedia® Flash™ for Windows are now in public beta.
Based on the company's award-winning video encoding and compression applications for digital video professionals and enthusiasts, Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 includes support for Macromedia Flash Player 8 including integration of the professional version of the VP6 video codec from On2 Technologies. Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 also adds a new FLV player and offers new Flash Player templates.

Both beta versions of Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 feature expanded abilities to generate Flash 8 files including support for the On2 VP6 professional codec with two-pass VBR as well as a new FLV player and expanded Flash Video Player templates. The On2 VP6 codec greatly increases the video quality available within the Flash player and therefore opens many more uses for Flash video. The FLV player provides users a means for viewing compiled Flash FLV video files directly from within Sorenson Squeeze.
