(Mountain View, California, USA – December 20, 2005) Eovia™ Corporation, developer and publisher of leading 3D software tools, today announced that Eovia Carrara™ 5 -- the latest release of the powerful, approachable, complete 3D solution -- and the TransPoser 2 plug-in for Carrara now provide support for Poser 6, the award-winning 3D human figure software from e frontier. Eovia began shipping Carrara 5 at the beginning of December. Widely accepted in the design community, Poser 6 is one of the flagship products of e frontier (formerly Curious Labs).

Eovia Carrara 5 is now able to natively import Poser characters (with bones, morph targets and skinning information), cloth (not dynamic) and props. Poser figures can be imported with Carrara bones and morph targets, allowing artists to animate them directly inside Carrara. Users can also easily import a character and then add clothes, morph targets or another hair prop. Carrara 5 supports the following Poser formats: CR2, CRZ, PP2, PPZ, PZ3, OBZ and PZZ. Animation created in Poser can also be imported into Carrara 5.
Additionally, the updated Eovia TransPoser 2 plug-in is included in the more comprehensive Carrara 5 Pro version. With this update, TransPoser 2 now supports Poser versions 4 through 6, network rendering, dynamic cloth and hair and the update button.
The TransPoser 2 plug-in is priced at US$99 and is available through the Eovia webstore (www.eovia.com/purchase/webstore.asp), with a free updater available for current owners on the Eovia website. Carrara 5 is priced competitively at US$249, with the advanced Carrara 5 Pro available now for US$549.
