(LOS ANGELES--March 8, 2006) WalkerFX™, a leading software developer of visual effects and motion graphics tools for leading compositing applications, today announced that the company is now named WalkerFX - Beyond Compositing.
To reflect this change, WalkerFX has adopted a new company logo and a new website is underway. The details of this announcement go into effect immediately.
Best known since 1997 as the innovators behind Walker Effects - the company's flagship visual effects software tools - a core suite of 18 high-performance Adobe® After Effects® plug-ins for compositors, the re-branding effort represents a multi-faceted strategic initiative to elevate the company's presence, expand business and deliver a broader spectrum of leading-edge creative tools to digital content creators in the film, broadcast, video, animation, gaming, graphics, design, and visual effects industries. Company founder Steven J. Walker will continue to oversee WalkerFX operations as president and as the lead technology developer.
The transformation of Walker Effects into WalkerFX also involves a major rebuild of the Walker Effects v2.1 core graphics engine. In order to provide the unique capabilities of WalkerFX to applications other than After Effects, the company will begin a vigorous schedule of new product releases with the introduction of Tranceform™ a creative tool for producing complex and mesmerizing animations. Currently in development, Tranceform supports Adobe After Effects as well as Apple Shake, Apple Motion, and Autodesk Combustion.
Tranceform is scheduled for release in Q2 2006, and will be followed by the June release of WalkerFX v3.0, representing a distinct change in the structure, feature set, naming, and pricing of the product packages.

Walker is also a seasoned freelance visual effects artist, and is widely-known and celebrated for his development of custom plug-ins and technologies for leading production, post production, and visual effects companies.
