(March 16, 2006) Winners for the 16th Annual CMP MEDIA SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT Jolt Product Excellence & Productivity Awards were announced last night, with Adobe taking home Productivity awards in both the Web Development Tools and Mobile Development categories.
Out of hundreds of submissions and 89 finalists, Adobe products were selected for "jolting" the industry by a team of Software Development Magazine editors, columnists and industry gurus. Following are additional details on winning products and categories:
Web Development Tools: Tools for developing and deploying Web-based applications, including application servers and infrastructure to help Web applications interact dynamically with other Web applications, and tools using open standards such as XML, SOAP and HTML.- Macromedia Studio 8 2005 from Adobe Productivity Award
Mobile Development Tools: Application tools for mobile handheld development, including IDEs, network management and roll-out.- Macromedia Flash Lite 2.0 from Adobe Productivity Award
For the past 15 years, the Software Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards have been presented annually to showcase products that have "jolted" the industry with their significance during the previous year.
