(CINCINNATI, May 2, 2006) Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that its new Videotek® PTM-305 handheld, personal test monitor has received Broadcast Engineering magazine's Pick Hit Award, the industry's longest-running new product technology awards.
Winners of the Pick Hit Award are selected by professionals working in the broadcast, post-production and network and satellite industries who remain anonymous throughout the judging process to protect the integrity of the awards. Winning products must have some positive impact on the intended user's everyday work, and must offer substantial improvement over previous technology.
"We are honored that the PTM-305 has been recognized with the Pick Hit award, which is one of the most coveted technology awards presented at the NAB show," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "Demonstrated for the first time at the 2005 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), where it was awarded TV Technology's Star 2005 Award for Superior Technology, the PTM-305 has been a focus of increased interest in recent months, and this Pick Hit Award win underscores the industry's overwhelmingly positive response to the PTM-305 at NAB this year."
The lightweight, battery-powered PTM-305 offers multi-format functionality and versatility that is unmatched in the handheld test and measurement segment. It features a video test signal generator, color monitor, waveform/vector scope and an audio analyzer/monitor. The user-friendly, intuitive, menu-driven interface is navigated easily on the high-resolution, touch-screen display.
