(Boston, MA -- July 25, 2006) On Tuesday, August 1st, the Boston and Connecticut Final Cut Pro User Groups, HB Communications and Future Media Concepts will present "Shake 'n' Final Cut Studio," a special evening event and social taking place during Siggraph 2006. Shake 'n' Final Cut Studio will take place along Boston's waterfront in the Citiview Ballroom at the World Trade Center Boston, which is walking distance from the Boston Convention Center, where SIGGRAPH 2006 takes place. Doors open at 6 p.m. and presentations begin at 6:30 p.m. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Attendees are welcome to stay afterwards for a party to socialize with their peers, pick the brains of industry gurus or just enjoy the music. Anyone interested in Final Cut Studio, Apple's industry-leading, non-linear editing application is welcome to attend. Even if you're not attending SIGGRAPH 2006, you can attend this event to network with Boston's filmmaking, motion graphics and compositing community and Final Cut Studio users from around the world.
Through live demos, attendees can see and discuss the powerful features of the new Universal versions of Final Cut Studio and Shake, Apple's industry leading compositing software, as experts show how to extend the creative work produced in Final Cut Studio with an integrated Shake workflow. See how everyone who uses Final Cut Studio has the power to create the most sophisticated visual effects, without breaking the budget.

Dion Scoppettuolo, Shake Product Manager, will present Shake 4.1, which is now available at a price as low as a plug-in for Final Cut Studio that fits any production budgets. Shake has been used to create the world's most celebrated visual effects. Join Dion as he shows compositing techniques used in feature films such as the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Batman Begins," "King Kong" and "Superman Returns."
Chris Phrommayon of Future Media Concepts will present a quick overview of the new Universal version Final Cut Studio. Chris will then demonstrate how to use Final Cut Pro and Shake to create convincing, Hollywood-caliber visual effects on a desktop -- and on a budget. Chris will be joined by Apple Certified Trainer Jem Schofield of Button Productions, who will discuss the seamless integration between Motion and Shake, including how to effectively use Particles created in Motion in your Shake scripts. Todd Prives of GenArts will round out the presentations with demo the new major version 2.0 update to the Sapphire Plug-Ins for Shake as well as version 1.3 for Final Cut Pro.
In addition to the presentations, there will be a huge Big Dig Raffle, which will feature hardware, software and training materials, including products from leading manufacturers such as Aja, Automatic Duck, Focus Enhancements, GenArts and others.
