"Pull," an independent film edited by Daily Planet's Sara Evans, was accepted into the 2006 LA International Short Film Festival. The film will be screened at the ArcLight Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday, September 6.
Shot in the fall of 2005, the 18 minute piece tells the story of a young man who tries to win the biggest tractor pull of the season as well as the girl of his dreams.
Andrew Shortell of Los Angeles-based Green Card Pictures directed the Super 16mm short and John Yaworsky of Two Plus One Films produced.
“What a pleasure it was working with Sara and her team at Daily Planet. Independent films rely heavily on creative editorial. Smaller budgets and accelerated schedules in production and post create unique challenges. Sara met those challenges and exceeded expectations while still working on the ‘Normal’ high standard post work that Daily Planet is known for.” Yaworsky said.
