(AACHEN, Germany--BUSINESS WIRE--Sept. 8, 2006) MainConcept, a worldwide leader of codec technology, announced today the availability and shipment of its first DSP hardware product for IBC 2006 in Amsterdam. The hardware/software solution MC-P 512 SD is designed for usage in professional applications and other high-end environments, such as video editing and broadcast streaming. It will be demonstrated at booth 2.340 and be ready for shipping right after IBC in September.
The MC-P 512 SD is based on a five TMS320DM642(TM) DSPs Texas Instruments PCI board to provide SDI video encoding in D1 resolution. It will be shipped including MainConcept's H.264/AVC codec, to bring the same unique quality of its PC based software video codecs to the realtime DSP environment. An MPEG-2 option for the board will ship later this year.
"Entering the world of DSP solutions is the next great step in the successful history of MainConcept," said Markus Moenig, founder and CEO. "With MC-P 512 SD, based on Texas Instruments DSPs, we are now able to offer high-speed H.264 hardware encoding for professional production environments. And this is only the beginning of many more high-quality DSP solutions, made by MainConcept."
The evaluation kit consists of the board including drivers, the H.264 SDK and controller application with sample source code, documentation and access to technical support. To purchase the evaluation kit or request volume pricing, interested parties and OEM partners should send an e-mail to sales@mainconcept.de.
MainConcept will be showcasing the MC-P 512 SD at booth 2.340 from September 8-12 in Amsterdam.
