News : Cineon/DPX PRO v2.0.7 QuickTime Components Updated

Last Updated: February 20, 2007 4:40 pm GMT
(Santa Barbara, CA -- February 20, 2007) GLUE TOOLS Announces an Update to Version 2.0.7 of its Cineon/DPX PRO QuickTime Components for MacOSX.

The Cineon/DPX components are continuing to improve film and HD workflows for QuickTime based applications. Speed and reliability improvements are now allowing editors with XSan based Final Cut workstations to work more efficiently.

This new release of the Cineon/DPX PRO QuickTime components improves the Spotlight plugins to extract more information out of the DPX files. The Spotlight plugins can now extract S.two specific metadata from DPX frames created by the S.two Digital Film Recorder. This update includes a multitude of bug fixes, including better support for XSan volumes, increased loading speeds, and better DPX header support. The Cineon component has specifically been updated to improve 64-bit sized movie loading and multi-frame rate support (instead of being stuck at 24fps).

As with the previous versions of the Cineon/DPX Components, this updated release supports 10-bit Logarithmic and Raw RGB image data. 1-bit Alpha channel support for Film Scanner's infrared "dirt & scratch" scans is also supported. A TimeCode track is automatically provided for all QuickTime enabled applications, when using DPX sequences.

This latest version of the Cineon DPX QuickTime Components is available for only $89 USD. This is a free upgrade for v2.0 license holders, and an upgradeable package for existing v1.0 license holders. Please contact us for details. For more information, visit: http://www.gluetools.com .

The Cineon file format is a feature film industry standard. The DPX digital file format is used heavily in the feature film and High Definition broadcast industry for production.
