News : Automatic Sync Technologies Makes Captioning Easy for Adobe Flash CS3

Captioning Flash video is now faster, more affordable, and easier

Last Updated: April 7, 2007 6:32 pm GMT
(SEATTLE, Wash. -- April 7, 2007) Automatic Sync Technologies (AST) recently announced its CaptionSync automated captioning system now delivers XML caption output for the Adobe Flash CS3 captioning component.

This will allow organizations to bring their Flash video into accessibility compliance faster, more affordably, and easier than ever before. This caption output is available immediately at no additional cost to AST users.

"Today we offer caption and video search output for every major Flash captioning component. And with Adobe's caption component now included directly in Flash CS3, there's no excuse for not making every Flash video captioned and accessible," said Brent Robertson SVP Marketing at AST.

CaptionSync is an online service, available 7x24 and delivers high quality captions within minutes. As an online service, there is no software to buy or install, no volume commitments, and no monthly fees.

Government agencies, educational institutions, and television broadcasters are required by state and federal laws to caption their material. "But traditionally, captioning has been very time consuming and expensive to do, and as a result those who aren't forced by law to do so, typically don't. AST is trying to remove those barriers so any Flash video producer can make their video usable by a broader spectrum of users which includes the deaf, hard of hearing, those with learning disabilities, and those with English as a second language," continues Robertson.

CaptionSync users can select as many caption output formats as they need, choosing from Flash (DFXP for Flash CS3 or NCAM CCforFlash, Captionate, and/or RIT XML formats), QuickTime, Windows Media Player, Real, broadcast line-21 captions, and/or DVD subtitles. In addition, AST offers Google Video and other search data outputs at no additional cost which enable webcasts to be searchable and indexable.
