(WASHINGTON/CINCINNATI--November 19, 2007) The National Press Club in Washington, D.C., has implemented a new Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) digital signage system to deliver high-quality, dynamic images and video that convey information to its more than 200,000 annual visitors. The digital signage system, located in the Press Club’s main entrance lobby, features an LG® 60-inch, high-definition plasma screen powered by the Harris® InfoCaster™ creation station software.
The National Press Club is using the InfoCaster™ creation station to display a wide range of informational images and video, including graphics and details for upcoming events, maps of the facility, scrolling news bars, and video promos for its on-site digital broadcast studio, restaurants and meeting rooms.
“We host a wide variety of visitors at the National Press Club, from members of the press to public relations professionals to leaders from around the world. Our goal was to display important information and advertise events using full-color, dynamic graphics and video,” said Bill McCarren, general manager of the National Press Club. “Harris worked tirelessly to help us meet our objectives, and the results are impressive. The InfoCaster™ creation station enriches the experience of our visitors and allows us to use video technology to provide up-to-the-minute information in a very appealing medium, while eliminating the time and costs associated with producing the traditional paper posters.”
InfoCaster Digital Signage™ solutions take a full-picture approach to deploying digital signage for a wide range of markets and display environments. InfoCaster™ creation stations enable easy acquisition and content creation of graphics, live video and dynamic data content, while InfoCaster™ players synchronize and deliver content from multiple sources to thousands of remote displays spread over a nationwide network, addressing individual messaging display requirements. Advanced management, scheduling and monitoring tools give users unprecedented control and flexibility over the enterprise network.
