News : Autodesk at the National Association of Broadcasters 2008 Convention

(San Rafael, California--April 9, 2008) Autodesk, Inc. will be participating in the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 14 to 17, 2008. Autodesk will showcase its latest visual effects, finishing, color grading and animation solutions for film, television and commercial post-production.

Hosting more than 1,600 exhibitors from around the globe, NAB is the largest electronic media convention in the world.


Product Showcase
At the Autodesk booth # SL1420, show attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of the following solutions:
More than ever, Autodesk tools are designed to address the creation and sharing of assets across the entire production pipeline. Attendees can also view a series of live demonstrations showcasing interoperability between Autodesk products and third-party applications.

In addition, many of the industry's top digital artists will demonstrate their spectacular film and television work at the Autodesk booth. Scheduled presentations include:
  • Dave Waller, founder of Brickyard VFX and Mandy Sorenson, lead visual effects artist highlighting their work with Maya and Flame for Pontiac and Volkswagen commercials

  • Imarion Inc. President, Alex Olegnowicz demonstrating the Smoke and Lustre workflow used in the creation of several documentary films, such as The Exodus Decoded, The Lost Tomb of Jesus, and Sex Slaves

  • Victor Wolansky, senior visual effects artist at E3 Post showcasing his work on the Autodesk Flame system

  • Todd Iorio, Resolution president and senior visual effects supervisor presenting his work with Flame for a Chevrolet Motor Company's spot titled Tailgate


Events and Training
Autodesk will be hosting a user group event, as well as MasterClasses for Flame and Smoke, on Sunday April 13, 2008. Both classes will include extensive tips and tricks, and will be co-instructed by Autodesk clients. The company will also be holding Spanish and Japanese user events, on April 15 and 16, 2008 respectively.
