News : DELTACAST releases PCI Express versions of DELTA-hd and DELTA-hd key

Last Updated: June 25, 2008 7:07 pm GMT
(Ans, Belgium--June 25, 2008) DELTACAST is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its new PCI Express versions of the DELTA-hd and DELTA-hd key video cards that were announced at NAB2008.

Both cards are in full production and can be ordered for immediate shipment from DELTACAST.

The DELTA-hd-e 22 (PCIe) and the DELTA-hd-e key (PCIe) use the latest version of DELTACAST’s VideoMasterHD OEM SDK. All programs written for the new PCIe versions of DELTACAST’s HD offerings are completely compatible with the previously shipping DELTA-hd and DELTA-hd key versions.

"We are happy to propose this migration path from PCI to PCI Express for our OEM customers. All of our SDI product families, the DELTA-sdi, the DELTA-hd and DELTA-key, use the same VideoMasterHD OEM SDK and are now available in both PCI and PCI Express. This provides the utmost flexibility for our OEM customers and allows them to choose the most suited, lowest cost and highest performance solution on the market, " said Christian DUTILLEUX, General Manager of DELTACAST.

Key features of the DELTA-hd-e are:
  • 2 independent HD-SDI inputs

  • 2 independent HD-SDI outputs

  • Supports simultaneous capture and playback

  • 16 embedded audio channels support

  • ANC handling

  • Automatic bypass relays

  • External bi- or tri-level "Blackburst" genlock reference input

  • 1/2 size PCI Express card form factor

  • 4-lane PCI Express rev1.1 compliant

  • Comprehensive and unified VideoMasterHD OEM SDK for quick system integration under Windows and Linux

The DELTA-hd-e key incorporates an on board real-time hardware keyer in addition to the features listed above.

Developers of video solutions have been extremely pleased with the power of the DELTACAST hardware and the ease of use of DELTACAST’s SDK. Said Kurtis Walsh, Systems Developer for Media Frame, LLC of Mesa, Arizona “DELTACAST’s VideoMasterHD SDK was a pleasant surprise. DMA transfers are integrated into the workflow allowing for fast and easy transfers from host to device memory. The SDK provides low level access to ancillary data as well as high level functions to assist with embedded audio and timecode. The developer support team was quick and accurate with responses. The well designed SDK coupled with their great support helped us integrate DELTACAST OEM hardware into our product in a matter of days."

Media Frame, LLC will soon release its Media Frame technology based applications that allow any video source in any format at any frame rate to be converted to any other frame rate or format in real time. All conversions from SD to HD, HD to SD, at any frame rate, interlaced to progressive, NTSC or PAL, or any other combination are all done in real time using proprietary processes and pixel interpolation that maintains the highest video quality and color accuracy in the industry. The Media Frame Engine will support both the PCIX and PCIe versions of the DELTA –hd key.
