(Los Angeles, California--June 25, 2008) Step right up and get your ticket! Solid™, a motion graphics and live action company, recently completed a main title and show package depicting the search for fame as a carnival ride for VH1’s new reality show, “I Know My Kid’s A Star,” hosted by former child star Danny Bonaduce.
Drawing from the experience of a thrill ride, the main title sequence epitomizes the drama behind the show, featuring a parent and child together taking a zany, erratic funhouse ride, navigating the treacherous, spontaneous road to stardom in hopes of reaching the fame and fortune of Hollywood.
“The project posed an interesting design challenge,” said Solid™ Creative Director Thom Blackburn. “The design had to be cognizant of the children as subjects of the show while still appealing to VH1's demographic.”
A carnival ride allowed Solid™ to conceptualize a childhood experience as a metaphor for the exciting yet turbulent pursuit of fame in Hollywood.
A multi-layered wood and paint aesthetic was created to capture the classic, old-fashioned carnival ride look. By playing with the scale and perspective of the various encounters, the viewer becomes a passenger in the ride to fame and fortune, judging idiosyncratic elements of the experience that pique their interest.
“Our team’s resourcefulness and talent for methodical execution for this concept allowed us to maintain the high production look while keeping the costs manageable,” said Solid™ Executive Producer Jennifer Holstein.
