(CHATSWORTH, California--August 18, 2008) Dulce Systems adds the PRO FT to an existing lineup of high performance cost effective Fibre Channel products. The PRO FT bridges existing SAS/SATA JBOD enclosures to 4Gb Fibre Channel with the latest RAID functionalities.
The PRO FT supports connections to sixteen drives with four industry standard miniSAS connectors. Each connector can connect to four SAS/SATA disk drives housed in a typical JBOD enclosure. Existing Dulce Systems enclosures such as the Quad, Duo Quad and PRO DQ can be transformed to Fibre Channel usage. 3rd party enclosures supporting miniSAS or Infiniband are also compatible.
The PRO FT can be daisy chained to the PRO TX (PRO FT Expander) for cost effect expansion when additional JBOD enclosures are to be added to the PRO FT. Three additional PRO TX’s can be added, giving a total of 64 SAS/SATA drives bridged to Fibre Channel.
The high performance PRO FT sports a dual port 4Gb Fibre Channel, the two ports can be configured for Multipath I/O (MPIO) operation in conjunction with the host operating system to maximize data throughput and data path protection. In MPIO mode the PRO FT measures over 550MB/sec.
The PRO FT is SAN Ready. The highly flexible RAID Manager can configure the PRO FT for multiple workstation usage via LUN mapping. There is no need to buy an expensive Fibre Switch if just two workstations are to share the PRO FT. The PRO FT works well with Xsan, MetaSAN and other SAN products in a larger shared environment.
The PRO FT supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 6 modes - It is Mac, PC and Linux compatible, and works with Apple’s Final Cut Studio, Adobe’s Premiere Pro and other popular video editing and creation tools. The PRO FT also supports the Instant Ready feature eliminating the long initial format time. Additionally, the PRO FT features Ethernet management capabilities with email notification plus a host of other great features.
