Last Updated: August 27, 2008 4:14 pm GMT
(Billerica, Massachusetts--August 27, 2008) Broadcast Pix™ Inc. today announced the addition of Michael “Aussie” Holten as Senior Workflow Engineer. Michael Holten is an accomplished video producer, editor, theatrical sound designer and software designer, who will further enhance the streamlined workflow inherent in Broadcast Pix’s highly integrated live video production systems.

“Broadcast Pix has redefined the switcher as an integrated live video production studio that has broken new ground in ease of use,” said Ken Swanton, President of Broadcast Pix. “Now Aussie’s hands-on know-how and innovative approach will help us raise the bar further.”

At a time when Broadcast Pix is rapidly expanding its line of Slate™ video production systems, Holten was chosen for his extensive experience in video production and knowledge of software tools. Holten says he was drawn to Broadcast Pix by its strong reputation for system reliability and well conceived design.

“I’m excited to be joining Broadcast Pix. They are a fantastic company with a unique product that provides a development path for a variety of markets,” said Holten. “Their Slate switchers already possess impressive technology to streamline live production. I’m eager to see us soar to the highest levels.”

Michael Holten ran his own production companies in Seattle for twenty-five years. He received numerous awards including an area Emmy award for “Best Documentary” for ”A Question of Survival,” "Dramalog Critic's Awards" for theatrical sound designs, and a special award, "For Giving Me Back My Dad!,” based on the time-saving software achievements of Co-Pilot Audio & Co-Pilot Video that Holten wrote. He was a leading third-party developer of tools for non-linear editing systems, authoring 300 high speed video and audio editing tools through his software company, OZware. Most recently Holten was a software engineer and video analyst at San Antonio-based, NewTek, Inc., which he joined in 2000, and was instrumental in the TriCaster™ design. Holten is originally from Australia.
