(IBC-Amsterdam, Netherlands--September 15, 2008) da Vinci Systems, the leading provider of color enhancement and image restoration systems, announces the appointment of Rob Shevlot to the position of vice president of global sales.
"Rob's wealth of experience and understanding of the industry will help drive continued worldwide expansion of da Vinci's award-winning products," said Bill Robertson, vice president and general manager of da Vinci Systems. "Rob's proven ability to recruit high-performing salespeople, expand into new markets, and establish relationships with industry leaders will help us continue to increase our presence in post-production facilities worldwide."
Before joining da Vinci, Shevlot served as the director of global sales for JDSU's Digital Video IP Specialist Group. Before that, he was director of sales for Enseo, a leading provider of Digital Media Engines for multi-channel MPEG video playback, and served as the director of sales for Vela, a manufacturer of broadcast-quality standard and high-definition MPEG video encoders and decoders.
Shevlot has assumed the position vacated by Peter Glassberg, who served in this role for 18 years and retired from da Vinci to pursue other opportunities.
"On behalf of the entire da Vinci team, I'd like to extend our sincere thanks to Peter for his outstanding leadership and effort in helping to make da Vinci the industry leader it is today," Robertson said. "Peter will be sincerely missed, and we'd like to wish him well in his future endeavors."
Shevlot will be based at da Vinci's headquarters in Coral Springs, Fla., and will report directly to Robertson.
