News : RTL Netherlands Selects Xytech Software to Streamline Its Broadcast Business Operations

(Burbank, California--September 23, 2008) Xytech Systems Corporation, a leading provider of software solutions that improve, automate, and streamline the mission critical business aspects of media operations including business workflow, resource scheduling, media library management, and digital workflow automation, announced that RTL Netherlands has purchased the Xytech software to manage its broadcast business operations.

RTL Netherlands is a subsidiary of the RTL Group, Europe's largest TV, radio, and production company and majority-owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann. It has 43 television and 32 radio stations in 10 countries. RTL Netherlands is a trendsetting multimedia company which holds a leading position in the Dutch consumer and advertising markets. They offer high quality and distinguished programs and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through four television stations, RTL4, RTL5, RTL7, and RTL8, and the Dutch leading radio station Radio538.

RTL needed a well-established software solution based on a stable platform that would allow it to improve and streamline its broadcast business operations including costs/work order management, resource and facilities scheduling, and management reporting on its media business operations. The company also wanted an easy-to-use application that could be directly integrated with other applications while automating as many manual functions as possible. Naturally the solution needed to be able to schedule personnel, equipment, rooms, and resources easily and efficiently but above all it also had to be able to aggregate and amortize costs associated with individual programming and creative services productions.

After careful review of all possible vendors, RTL chose the Xytech software because of its ability to best meet RTL’s requirements, both from a functionality perspective and application breadth. Other solutions did not have sufficient flexibility, adaptability, or out of the box functionality to meet RTL’s demanding needs. As a result, RTL acquired the Xytech software solution, which included modules for Workflow Core, Scheduling, Bidding, Purchase Order, Time Card, Engineering Maintenance and Webview. The central module of the Xytech solution is its Workflow Management Core module. It creates and tracks all jobs and work orders and supports an unlimited number of facility and client-specific rate cards. All activities can be tracked and managed through project billing codes. The module also supports extensive job costing and budgeting. Xytech’s Scheduling capabilities will be used to schedule studios and postproduction facilities, as well as internal staff and freelance personnel. The Xytech software will be configured and customized to RTL’s specific workflow operations via its cross module functions.

RTL Netherlands is targeted to go live on the Xytech software by November, 2008.
