(October 1, 2008) Trace Pictures, Nicktoons and See Spots win Gold at Creativity 38. The super fun concept behind this campaign was that Nicktoons cartoons are so powerful that they are capable of impacting the real world in unpredictable and wild ways.
Sr. Creative Director Justin Stephenson says, “We were really given license to run wild with these. Our talent was very funny and and we were asked to be as weird as possible which was…um…easy for us!”
We shot actors against green screen and combined the footage with matte paintings, stock footage, animation, design and, of course, Nicktoons cartoons. The animation was designed to look like a campy sci-fi 50’s film and incorporated characters from SpongeBob, Fairly Odd Parents, and Jimmy Neutron. They were seamlessly integrated into the environments, influencing the real world narrative.
The Creativity Annual is a global showcase for outstanding work and top talent in the advertising and graphic design industries. Now in its 38th year, the Annual features winners from every creative discipline and is one of the most celebrated collections of its kind.
