(Paris, France--October 20, 2008) Panasonic PBITS Professional & Broadcast Systems Europe will showcase "Real HD, Real IT, and Real Flexibility" at SIEL-SATIS-RADIO 2008 with a series of live workflow demonstrations. A complete post-production operation featuring P2, AVCHD, and AVC-Intra technologies with Avid and Final Cut Pro® systems will run alongside in-field editing demonstrations with Panasonic P2 cameras, the HPM110 player, and field editing systems.
The Panasonic stand also features live camera demonstrations coupled with the HS-400 compact multiformat mixer.

New Products on Show at SIEL-SATIS-RADIO 2008- AG-HMC151E — Compact HD Camcorder Using Solid-State SD Card Storage
Part of Panasonic's AVCCAM series of products, the AG-HMC151E incorporates the design concept of the highly regarded DVX100 and features a newly developed 13x Leica Dicomar 28mm wide-angle zoom lens, providing the widest angle of any 1/3-inch camcorder. At 1.7 kg, the AG-HMC151E is also the lightest 1/3-inch camcorder on the market. The AG-HMC151E AVCHD format allows the camera to record HD digital A/V data on SD/SDHC memory cards with the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec, providing robust and convenient tapeless operation. For the highest recording quality in 720p or 1080p progressive format, the AG-HMC151E offers professional high-quality (PH) mode exclusively designed for AVCCAM camcorders. Operational between 50 Hz and 60 Hz, the AG-HMC151E can be used easily anywhere worldwide.
The AVCHD recording format allows HD video to be recorded in the form of 8-bit digital component video using 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. The AG-HMC151E's "high profile" implementation of the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 standard provides improved compression efficiency and supports full-pixel HD (1920 x 1080 / 1280 x 720) 24p, 25p, and 30p progressive recording. The AG-HMC151E also supports variable bit rate (VBR) recording, significantly reducing image quality degradation in scenes with rapid movement.
- AG-HPX171E — Compact Broadcast HD Camcorder With P2 Storage
The AG-HPX171E features a newly developed 28mm Leica Dicomar wide-angle zoom lens providing the widest angle of any 1/3-inch class camcorder. Incorporation of the P2 solid-state recording system reduces the camera's weight by 25% compared with its predecessor, making the AG-HPX171E the lightest compact HD camcorder in its class and significantly easier for camera operators to handle. Equipped with a new 1/3-inch progressive 3CCD system with 19-bit processing, the AG-HPX171E delivers a substantially improved signal-to-noise ratio and prevents smear. The camera offers a 20-step variable frame-rate selection, 12p to 50p (50 Hz) / 60p (60 Hz) for overcrank/undercrank camera effects, a focus assist to support HD shooting, a waveform/vectorscope display function, new exclusive Dynamic Range Stretcher (DRS) with automatic Gamma adjustment, and an HD/SDI switchable output compatible with a wide variety of applications.

Building on the strengths of the successful AJ-HDC27, Panasonic's new AJ-HPX2700E Varicam features cine-like Gamma curves, variable frame rates from 1 to 60 fps, 14-bit processing, and dual HD-SDI outputs, while using Panasonic's efficient and high-quality AVC-Intra codec.

Panasonic's new Varicam delivers exceptional quality with the AVC-Intra codec. The AJ-HPX3700E features 3CCD Full HD 2.2 Mpx recording, 14-bit processing, AVC-Intra as a standard, support for P10Log (Cineon), Dual Link 4:4:4 output, and variable frame rate from 1 to 30 fps.
- AJ-PCD35 — P2 Card Reader With SATA Connectivity
AJ-PCD35, a new five-slot P2 solid-state memory drive with an ExpressCard interface, will dramatically increase simultaneous access to P2 content on ExpressCard-equipped notebook or desktop computers. Previously, P2 ExpressCard interface access was limited to a single card at a time using a third-party adapter. Offering the benefits of solid-state P2 technology, the AJ-PCD35 P2 memory card drive provides professionals with a faster, more convenient file transfer workflow with the latest generation of ExpressCard computers. The external P2 memory drive can transfer data from up to five P2 cards, making content immediately available to nonlinear editing systems and servers.
