(Milan, Italy--January 19, 2009) Rumblefish, one of Europe's leading pre- and post-production companies, will sponsor a day-long educational seminar for industry professionals on DI (digital intermediate) production on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Casa dell'Energia, Piazza Po, in Milan, Italy.
Scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the event will include discussions of DI workflow by experts and demonstrations of the latest technologies from top-tier providers. It will wrap up with the premiere screening of "Four Single Fathers," an English-language indie feature produced by Gabriele Muccino, Fabrizio Donvito, and Marco Cohen with post-production by Rumblefish.
Aimed at DPs, directors, VFX supervisors, ad agencies, and other professionals, the seminar will include an overview of the Rumblefish approach to managing film and video in digital high-resolution DI, and an introduction to new technologies being implemented in DI workflows. Participating vendors include da Vinci Systems, Arri, DVS, Kodak, Autodesk, and Panasonic, with technology demonstrations by the companies' Italian representatives. Videotecnica, Panasonic's local distributor, will be lending a full HD, 12,000 ANSI lumens video projector for the day.
"One of Rumblefish's goals as a company is to facilitate the fruitful exchange of ideas within the industry," said Massimo Germoglio, Rumblefish managing director. "We believe this event, the first of many we are planning, is a step toward our goal of becoming an international cultural and creative catalyst."
"Four Single Fathers" was written by producer Muccino and Liz Tuccillo, best known for "Sex and the City," and directed by Paolo Monico. Starring Alessandro Gassman ("Quite Chaos"), the story is about four men whose children attend the same school.
