(San Antonio, Texas--February 11, 2009) NewTek Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, announced today that NBA Digital will utilize TriCaster™ portable live production system to produce fan fantasy NBA TV sportscaster segments during the NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Phoenix Convention Center February 12 to 16.

The segments intersperse fan play-by-play with commentary from network personalities Ahmad Rashad and Gary Payton who appear on NBA TV’s studio show “GameTime” every Tuesday night. Fans can view their performances exclusively on www.nba.com/allstarscene.

“As many as 100,000 fans can capture the excitement of the NBA All-Star Game in a very unique way with this NBA TV sportscaster promotion at NBA Jam Session,” said Shawn Smith, vice president, sales and marketing, chief marketing officer, NBA D-League. “NewTek TriCaster allows us to quickly set up a network-style broadcast set in a small space that we can rely on for non-stop use throughout the entire five-day event.”

“NewTek TriCaster is a recognized leader in the broadcast and sports marketplaces, but this application shows how powerful the portable live production system can be in the hands of creative marketers,” said Philip Nelson, the senior vice president of strategic development, NewTek Inc. “With portability and turn-key operation, applications for TriCaster are limited only by users’ imaginations.”

NewTek also announced that it will demonstrate 3PLAY™ multi-channel, high definition (HD), instant replay and slow motion system live from a NBA Development League (NBA D-League) practice during NBA All-Star Week. The presentation, which includes shots of the NBA D-League practice and interviews from NewTek and NBA executives, will be streamed using TriCaster portable live production system online Friday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. MST (2:00 p.m. CST) at www.ustream.tv/channel/3play.
