(Toronto, Ontario--March 9, 2009) Colormancer announces a noise reduction plug-in that uses object-based noise removal algorithms to minimize noise while retaining more detail. “Competing products deliver excellent results and process much faster,” says Glenn Chan, the plug-in designer, “but our object-based approach lets us noticeably improve image quality.”
Object-based Noise Reduction
Boundary’s algorithms detect object boundaries to avoid performing noise reduction over edges of objects, resulting in sharper and cleaner edges. These algorithms are the result of two years of proprietary research as they do not use traditional methods for noise reduction such as Fourier transforms and wavelets.
To further improve image quality, Boundary retains small amounts of the original image’s texture to avoid the ‘plastic’ look typical of excessive noise reduction. For digitally-originated images, noise reduction is reduced for highlights as digital images contain more noise in shadows than highlights.
Compatibility
The plugin is compatible with Adobe® Photoshop®, Photoshop® Elements, Corel® Paint Shop Pro® Photo X2, Photoline, and Irfanview. The plugin supports OS X (PowerPC and Intel), Windows, and 64-bit Windows. It is compatible with Smart Filters and 16 and 32-bit bit depths where supported by the plugin host.
Purchasing
Boundary Noise Reduction can be purchased as an instant download from Colormancer.com for $65. Each purchase comes with a complimentary online backup. A free watermarked demo is available for download.
