(NAB Las Vegas, Nevada--April 20, 2009) ARRI presents the ARRIQCP (ARRI Quality Control Player) at NAB 2009. Designed to meet the needs of postproduction professionals, the ARRIQCP is the first Digital Cinema Package (DCP) quality control player on the market. It has been developed in close contact with the production environment and incorporates many useful features for DCP checking.
The ARRIQCP is designed for use in Digital Cinema content production workflows. It offers quality assurance as well as analysis of the Digital Cinema mastering process and will bring security to the compliance of DCPs. Before the final release of the DCP in postproduction the ARRIQCP performs a compliance test and offers the ability to check the picture and sound quality of the DCP without ingesting it and without the use of a Digital Cinema projector.
The ARRIQCP allows playback of DCPs directly to an HD or 2K monitor in order to perform quality control checks. Playback controls include common playback features (such as Play/Reverse, Jog and Shuttle) in various playback modes (2K, 2K Sub-Res-Level from 4K, 3D, Left or Right from 3D).
Besides versatile playback options, the ARRIQCP has various other functions:
- Overall checking of encoding, packaging and DCP validation
- File-integrity checks
- Content-analyzing tasks The ARRIQCP is a quality, timesaving tool for postproduction facilities and through cooperation with CineCert LLC, makes use of the most precise specifications and standards possible.
