News : ARRISCAN 2K: The Best in Scanning Now Available for Smaller Budgets

Last Updated: April 20, 2009 6:57 pm GMT
(NAB Las Vegas, Nevada--April 20, 2009) ARRI is introducing the ARRISCAN 2K, an entrylevel model streamlined for high speed scanning at an extremely competitive price. The new product is specially designed to bring superior ARRI scanning quality and data centric workflow into emerging DI markets, commercials and 2K or HD remastering applications.

The ARRISCAN 2K was developed to grow with customer needs. A newly designed camera system, illumination controller and exchangeable function modules give clients the option to start with a basic, fast scanning system. Allowing customers to keep up with the changing film transfer market, the unit can be expanded with various options. This new scanner focuses on the core ARRISCAN technology while keeping the configuration as cost effective as possible. For example the touch panel, host rack and UPS are not used with this system, components like 4K, double flash, or infrared illumination are available as upgrades.

No compromise has been made regarding manufacturing quality, image quality, flexibility of film transport and software opportunities. The ARRISCAN 2K utilizes the ARRISCAN 3K by 2K pixel area sensor, the LED illumination and the image processing system. It can be seamlessly integrated with standard ARRISCAN work spaces and shares the highest imaging quality. The film transport is the same as the standard ARRISCAN, allowing access to 2-, 3- and 4-perf 35mm film, flexible archive modes, 16mm option and even special modules like the archival gate and upcoming wetgate systems.

Providing the full speed, quality and upgrade possibilities, the ARRISCAN 2K is the ideal solution for emerging markets as well as commercial and archiving applications. Availability begins mid-2009.
