(Los Angeles, California--May 20, 2009) The Digital Cinema Society (DCS), a nonprofit educational cooperative with an international membership nearing 4,000 offers this year’s Cine Gear Expo audience an intriguing look at the latest lens technologies in its “Through the looking glass: Cine Lenses for Digital Cameras” presentation; free to attendees, Saturday, June 6, 2009, 2:15 pm – 3:45 pm, Paramount Pictures, Hollywood.
The DCS invites Cine Gear attendees to join its Northern California Chapter President Simon Sommerfeld, Advisory Board member Art Adams, SOC, and Videofax partner Leigh Blicher on Paramount Pictures Studio Lot Stage 16 for an informative session with major lens manufacturers as they demonstrate and explain their latest technologies. The DCS panel will examine what’s going on behind the focus marks in lens technology; and why with so many single-chip digital cinema cameras on the market (such as the Sony F35, Panavision Genesis, ARRI D-21, Vision Research Phantom and the RED ONE) the need for new film-style lenses is greater than ever.
Admission to the event is free; seating is on a first come basis. DCS representatives will be on hand to provide information on the Society and member benefits both at the Seminar and in their Expo stand in the New York Streets section.
