(Riverside, California--May 21, 2009) In four short weeks, you can earn a certificate in Digital Arts and Design this summer and be ready for a new career by fall. This new summer intensive program prepares you in the basics of creating and designing digital images for maximum visual impact.
The Digital Arts and Design Summer Academy 2009 program is ideal for the experienced graphic designer who wants to sharpen their skills and the novice beginner who wants to embark on a new career. The demand for graphic designers is expected to increase by 2016 from advertisers, publishers and computer design firms.
This new summer intensive begins July 13 and ends August 7, 2009 at UCR Extension, 1200 University Ave., Riverside, Calif.
The program fee is $3,750 ($3,450 if you enroll before June 19.) A $500 deposit is required. The balance is due before July 13. The fee includes your personal copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4, valued at $1,800, free parking, the certificate candidacy fee and classes taught by respected professionals working in the field today.
Participants attend class from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday, studying five different subjects and creating a digital arts portfolio. The five subjects are:
- Digital Communications – Learn or brush up your skills in Adobe Creative Suite 4’s InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop applications
- Digital Art & Design – Create design projects such as branding ID, unique business domain name and development of portfolio pieces. Includes business practices and overcoming the challenges of visual problem solving
- Digital Design Process – Instruction covers the “7-step production process,” which takes the designer from conception to finished project.
- Web Design for Graphic Designers – Instruction covers technical web topics such as CSS and XHTML and how to integrate Dreamweaver with other design tools in Adobe’s CS4.
- Digital Arts and Design Portfolio Review and Presentation – Last day of class, you present your portfolio, which is reviewed by the instructor and your peers
