(Amsterdam-IBC, The Netherlands--September 11, 2009) Autoscript, the world's leading teleprompting company and a Vitec Group brand, will present the first European demonstrations of its latest prompting solutions at IBC 2009 in Hall 9:D28.
The three products, launched at NAB 2009, are the result of Autoscript’s ongoing dialogue with its users and its continuing development of new technologies to further improve its teleprompting solutions.
The introductions include a high-brightness LED TFT-Plus flat screen for all Autoscript prompter systems; the compact, lightweight Miniscript portable on-camera TFT monitor, featuring all of the standard connectors of larger Autoscript displays; and the MFC-1 Magno Foot Control for magnetic, frictionless presenter-control convenience.
“At Autoscript we pride ourselves on designing and manufacturing every element of our prompting solutions, utilising the latest technological advances to create user-friendly, practical and beneficial tools for the broadcast television and professional video industries,” said Brian Larter, Worldwide Managing Director, Autoscript. “These latest innovations underline our commitment to providing versatile teleprompting solutions suitable for all situations and budgets. Autoscript is proud to introduce these new tools to the European market at IBC 2009.”
Affordable LED TFTs: Leveraging recent and considerable advances in LED technology, Autoscript offers this next-generation illumination technology at no extra cost over its current TFT (thin-film transistor) display range. LED technology has major advantages for display longevity, performance, reliability, and “green” energy savings. In addition the superior light distribution of Autoscript’s LED TFT-Plus delivers higher contrast levels and an overall picture quality that improves on current technology. The range includes 17-, 15-, 12- and 8-inch versions of the new LED TFT-Plus monitors, all of which feature an illuminated control panel for easy visibility in dark studio conditions.
The Miniscript Lightweight Portable On-Camera Monitor: Autoscript has developed the Miniscript 5.6, a 1lb, on-camera 5.6-inch flat-screen monitor with all of the standard functions of its larger cousins, including connections for composite BNC and Hirose power inputs. Autoscript developed the monitor in cooperation with veteran British camera supervisor Phil Piotrowsky, who noted an increasing use of hand-held cameras for live and studio-based entertainment production. Outfitting portable cameras with teleprompters provides a ‘safety net’ for on-air presenters, who appreciate being able to refer to a prompter as they move freely about the set.
The MFC-1 Magno Foot Control: Autoscript has integrated frictionless magnetic technology into its new MFC-1 Magno Foot Control and companion MFC Desk Pad, in order to overcome the weakening of tension springs that occurs due to the repeated pushing and twisting action normally applied to mechanical foot controllers. The MFC-1 Magno Foot Control and MFC Desk Pad provide an ultra-responsive user interface for control of prompting systems, and connect directly with the WinPlus prompter software and features built-in intelligence to allow production staff or multiple presenters to allocate any controller for use at any time and with fail-safe accuracy. With the increasing need for news anchors to control their own prompters, the Magno takes presenter interaction and control to the next level with unrivalled reliability.
Autoscript’s teleprompting tools can be also seen on partner stands including Dalet (Hall 8:B77), Orad (Hall 7:H21), Octopus (Hall 3:B58) and Vinten/Radamec (Hall 9:E20a). Autoscript will also play a major role in the IBC Production Village in Hall 9, not only as part of the Training Zone but also as an integral part of IBC TV News’ production, which will be broadcast from the Production Village each morning.
