(Los Angeles, California--October 7, 2009) Cinegy, a world leader in file-based workflow technologies for the broadcast and post production industries, will sponsor a seminar, co-hosted by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) exploring the current generation of file-based workflows and future expectations.

The seminar, a pre-conference event for the SMPTE Tech Conference and Expo, will begin with a panel discussion at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 26th at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel (Grand Ballroom Salon 2) in Hollywood. The panel discussion will be followed by a technical demonstration featuring Cinegy along with other important industry vendors. The event will conclude with a cocktail reception hosted by Cinegy open to all registered SMPTE attendees as well as those attending the seminar.

Participants in the panel discussion include Chris Carey, Senior Vice President of World-Wide Operations, Paramount Pictures; Chris Cookson, President, Sony Pictures Technologies; Michael Karagosian, President, MKPE Consulting; Tim Padilla, Executive Director, Digital Media Systems, Warner Bros.; Leon Silverman, General Manager of the Digital Studio; The Walt Disney Company; and Michael Sterling, Principal Consultant; National TeleConsultants.

"Cinegy is proud to be sponsoring this seminar and reception and fully supports the important role that AMWA plays in advancing digital workflows in broadcast," said Cinegy Managing Director Jan Weigner. "Both MXF and AAF as defined and promoted by AMWA hold the key to integrated production and broadcast workflows. By sponsoring this event Cinegy is doing its part to help grow awareness and adoption in the industry."

Cinegy will be one of 13 vendors taking part in the technical demonstration of a complete production workflow based on the MXF format. "The demonstration will show a workflow, incorporating technology from many vendors being used to take a project from ingest through final playout in just a few minutes," explained Weigner, who is also a member of the AMWA board. "Our goal is to underscore the versatility of the MXF format and the importance of AMWA's work in promoting standardization within the industry."
