(October 15, 2009) MPC’s Paul Harrison wins the Best Telecine Award for his work on Paolo Nutini’s promo, ‘Candy’ directed by Nez at Colonel Blimp. Paul worked closely with Director of Photography Eric Madisson to create the beautiful promo, trying to enhance the vibrant colours whilst staying truthful to the feeling of the film.
The rich colours were naturally complimented by the bright Cuban day, and this had to be balanced to create a nice transition through the dusk and night.
Multi-award winning Paul Harrison joined the Colour Grading team led by Director of Telecine Jean-Clement Soret earlier this year as a Senior Colourist. Paul has since then worked on exciting projects including; Evian 'Skating Babies,' Strongbow 'Final Push,' Fosters and Carling. Paul has also been nominated for this year’s BTA Craft for his work on HSBC Lumberjack, which was done while he was at The Mill.
Other MPC nominations included Best VFX for Coldplay 'Life in Technicolor ii,' Depeche Mode 'Wrong' and Monkey Bee.
