(Gardena, California--October 22, 2009) Pegasys, Inc., the company that makes digital video easy was a sponsor of ProjectTwenty1’s 21-day Filmmaking Competition and the Philadelphia Filmathon. The P21Fest, hosted by Project Twenty1, took place October 1-4, 2009 in University City, Philadelphia. Winners were announced on October 4 at the awards ceremony.

Project Twenty1 is a completely volunteer-run arts organization dedicated to inspiring, connecting, exhibiting, and promoting artists of all disciplines through film and animation. The 4th Annual P21Fest hosted an array of independent film screenings, workshops, parties, and networking events around University City. Over 50 films were screened over the 4-Day festival, including the 21-Day Filmmaking Competition films, a collection of shorts from all over the world.

“Good software is essential in today's film productions, especially with the massive technological expansion over the last 20 years. Without dependable software, the artist has no paintbrush," remarked Stephanie Yuhas, Project Twenty1’s Executive Director. “We're excited about the growth of Project Twenty1 as an incubator for artists and are pleased Pegasys and its TMPGEnc brand of products was a sponsor, providing an excellent software package for our winners.”

Director Bajir Cannon won the Philadelphia Filmathon for Best Feature, The Distance Between the Apple and the Tree. Ghost Light by Team Emerald Products won the 21-Day Filmmaking Competition for Best Film. Prizes for both included Pegasys’ Super Bundle Pack software consisting of TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, Authoring Works 4, MovieStyle and MPEG Editor 3. The software bundle enables the independent filmmaker to do it all -- convert, edit, transfer video to digital devices, burn to Blu-ray Disc and DVD, and create custom menus.

“Pegasys is pleased to have sponsored the contest and provide our Super Bundle Pack software for the winners. Our TMPGEnc products are ideally suited for the independent filmmaker and it is exciting to support Project Twenty1’s filmmaking competitions that create a promotional venue for artists from Philadelphia and all over the world,” stated Tak Ebine, Pegasys’ CEO.
