News : The Smalls And Cutty Sark Whisky Team Up For Short Film Comeptition

Last Updated: November 13, 2009 7:33 pm GMT
(London--November 13, 2009) London Whisky brand Cutty Sark and The Smalls today announced the call for entries for a new competition for independent filmmakers. The winning films will be featured in an exclusive online gallery hosted on the Cutty Sark website as well as on the Discovery Channel.

The winners will also be promoted in a full-page advert in (magazine TBC), receive a Canon EOS 500D camera and a case of whisky.

The competition features four themes for filmmakers to choose from and a useful tool kit will be provided to down load from thesmalls.com. Filmmakers are invited to execute one script in any manner they choose – be literal, go figurative, and make the most of any one of the many inspiring stories from the history of Cutty Sark.

Independence has always been a strong facet of Cutty Sark. Owned by the family run company Berry Bros. & Rudd since 1923, this whisky bucked the trend of dark scotches for a much more refined, light coloured blend and taste. Today Cutty Sark is one of the leading scotches in the world, and still represents the spirit of those who defy conventions. To reflect this spirit the brand is re-launching this autumn with a new website celebrating independent art and creativity.

Four winners will be selected to join the Cutty Sark interactive online gallery. London based independent artists, designers, animators and filmmakers are encouraged to use this opportunity to express themselves and enjoy some Cutty Sark along the way. Visit thesmalls.com/cuttysark for further details and competition terms.
