(Amsterdam-IBC, The Netherlands--September 13, 2010) The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) today announced that Mode-AL has been awarded the prestigious IABM Peter Wayne Award in recognition of their product Speed Rack. Dolby®, Gekko Technologies, Integrated Microwave Technologies, and Sony® each won an IABM Award for Excellence in Design and Innovation.

"Again in 2010, the IABM Award winners highlight the commitment to technical innovation, quality, and utility that drives our industry forward," said Peter White, IABM's director general. "The winning companies and products were selected by a global judging panel with expertise from across the spectrum of broadcast activity. All of the companies and products honored with IABM Awards have met a high standard set by industry consensus, and all deserve our heartfelt congratulations."

Mode-AL earned the IABM Peter Wayne Award, which represents the best of new outstanding products and technologies that offer a significant contribution to the broadcast and media industry. IABM Awards for Excellence in Design and Innovation were presented to Dolby and its PRM-4200, a professional reference monitor that allows cinema color grading without a digital cinema projector; Gekko and its kleer colour LED-based multichip array technology that allows LED technology to be employed for lighting film sets and studios; Integrated Microwave Technologies and its RF Central microLite HD, an MPEG-4-based full-HD digital COFDM ultra-miniature digital transmitter; and Sony and its MPE-200, a 3D stereo image processor that provides accurate analysis, control, and manipulation of 3D scenes in real time.

The IABM Award for Excellence in Design and Innovation recognizes products that offer significant solutions or new opportunities to the industry. Award winners were selected by an international panel of distinguished judges who visited finalists on the IBC2010 show floor to see the products in action. Judging criteria included innovation, excellent performance, outstanding appearance, and contribution toward quality, as well as ease of use, new capability created, or value for money. The results were announced at the IABM Awards Ceremony at IBC2010 on Saturday, Sept. 11.
