(London--November 11, 2010) The Foundry, a leading developer of visual effects software whose products have been used to make globally acclaimed movies such as "Avatar", "District 9" and the "Harry Potter" franchise, is pleased to announce that Red Giant Software's Trapcode Particular is now available for its high-end compositor NUKE.

Trapcode Particular is the industry-standard tool for solving common visual effects challenges. This powerful particle system for NUKE creates a wide range of effects – from natural smoke, rain and snow to fire, explosions and more. Particular for NUKE works just as artists expect so you can move immediately into a powerful and creative workflow.

Steve Wright, master trainer for NUKE and VFX compositing, comments "At last, Red Giant has closed the particle system gap for NUKE by introducing Trapcode Particular for NUKE.

After years as the definitive particle system for Adobe After Effects, a 64-bit version has been ported to NUKE to add photorealistic particle effects to NUKE's palette. Particular for NUKE is an absolutely essential addition to any serious visual effects studio."

Trapcode Particular goes way beyond the basics with realistic natural effects for NUKE. Its powerful features include 3D camera integration, lighting control for shaded particles, custom textured polygons, depth of field, and physics controls such as air resistance, gravity and turbulence. Particular is used widely in motion pictures such as Spider Man 3, Terminator: Salvation and Angels & Demons and in TV shows like Lost.

NUKE Product Manager Jon Wadelton, adds, "We're thrilled that Trapcode's renowned Particular is now available for NUKE. Particular allows the artist to create photo-realistic particle effects quickly within the context of their comp - removing any need to go back and forth between external 3D applications. Particular's interaction with NUKE's 3D camera and lights makes integration simple and fast. It's a great addition to NUKE that I'm very impressed with."

KEY FEATURES
  • Photo-realistic natural effects
Particular's rich feature set gives you all the capabilities you need in one powerful particle system. Millions of particles per second generate photorealistic results like rain, snow, clouds, smoke trails and sparks. Puffy white clouds, shiny bubbles, swirling dust motes, rain, falling snow, realistic smoke and flocking birds are all possible.

  • 3D system custom built for NUKE
Particular's integration with the NUKE camera and lights goes far beyond other plug-ins. Particular fully supports NUKE 3D camera controls and previewing in NUKE's 3D view, so it's easy to set up and see results. Emit particles from lights, bounce particles off nodes, and use custom particles with full 3D rotation and fly-through ability. Fast renders and compelling results let you stay inside NUKE and away from a full-blown 3D modeling system.

  • Editable scripts make setup a snap
The Particular OFX plug-in comes with custom scripts built as groups that you can fully edit to suit your pipeline. The scripts easily tie into the NUKE cameras and 3D view with one click, for the deepest third party support you'll find for NUKE's 3D system. Particular supports all of the NUKE
platforms: Mac, Windows, Linux, 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
Nuke Particular is available now for $699 USD from The Foundry.
Customers can also opt to buy a render-only version of the software for $199 USD.
