(Brussels, Belgium--November 4, 2011) Brussels, Belgium – November 4, 2011 – Softron Media Services today announced the immediate availability of MovieRecorder 2.3b4. The new version supports Edit-While-Ingest using both Reference Movies and Self Contained Movies. It can be used to ingest clips for on the fly editing with both Final Cut Pro 7 as well as with Final Cut Pro X.
MovieRecorder 2.3b4 is a Macintosh based multi-format, multiple input video acquisition software. It supports multiple SD and HD in either compressed or uncompressed formats. MovieRecorder allows the user to schedule or manually capture video clips that can be edited during the ingest session. Multiple ingest sessions on the same or on different workstations can be monitored and controlled via MovieRecorder Control. Aggressively priced, up to eight SD MovieRecorder applications, or 4 HD applications can run on a single workstation and can simultaneously capture from from different inputs.
MovieRecorder is designed for use with any video cards from AJA, Blackmagic Design, Matrox and MOTU. MovieRecorder is AppleScriptable allowing external applications to activate and control either it. Softron Media Services provides sample AppleScripts to acquaint users with “How to” scripting assistance.
MovieRecorder 2.3b4 also offers a Pro option that supports deck control, batch capture, Metadata tagging, Loop Recording and MPEG4 and ProRes proxy captures.
