MPC recently collaborated with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and O Positive Director Jonathan Klein on a revamped Christmas carol starring a cast of NBA royalty promoting the league’s Xmas Day uniforms. An MPC team led by VFX Supervisor / 2D Lead Jake Montgomery synched footage of six different NBA stars – LeBron James (Miami Heat), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Steve Nash (Los Angeles Lakers) and James Harden (Houston Rockets) – shot by Klein on several different stages, to make them appear as though they were all in the same gym, firing shots at bell-festooned hoops in perfect time to play the Christmas classic "Jingle Bells."
