The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) announces that Dennis Doros, co-owner of Milestone Films, has been elected president of the international association by AMIA members. Doros will be inducted into office at the annual AMIA Conference in New Orleans (Nov. 29 – Dec. 2), when he will begin a two-year term. He succeeds Andrea Kalas, who has led the organization forward for the past two years.

Kino Lorber has acquired all North American rights to Kirsten Tan’s debut feature POP AYE, after the film’s world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in the World Dramatic section. A road movie set in Thailand, POP AYE tells the story of an over-the-hill architect and his attempt to bring his long-lost elephant back to their rural hometown. Written and directed by Singaporean writer-director Kirsten Tan, currently based in New York, POP AYE was the opening night title in the World Dramatic section and has gathered strong reviews since its first screening on January 19.

Written and directed by Kankuro Kudo -- who has been involved in many popular dramas and films as a screenwriter and director -- "TOO YOUNG TO DIE" follows the adventures of the film’s leading character, Daisuke, who dies in an accident at the age of 17 and goes to Hell. While in Hell, Daisuke tries to come back to life to confess his love to his classmate and kiss the girl, all under the intensive training of Killer K, an ogre who formed a rock band called "Hells."
