SynthEyes 1411 3-D Tracker Released
The new 1411 release focuses on improvements for SynthEyes's already-extensive supervised tracking feature set. Tracker size, aspect, and search-size can now be animated, making it easier to re-track and refine an existing track. Trackers now offer animated reference crosshairs, which can be helpful when placing trackers when there are extended linear features nearby. The graph editor has been enhanced with the new animated channels, though they are not visible until they are animated. The channel display now makes it easier to identify which channels are keyed on a given frame as you scrub through the shot. The constrained-trackers view can now be sorted to make it easier to identify problematic trackers, and to identify local vs inter-camera constraints.

OConnor Helps Crescenzo Raise the Bar of Visual Excitement on "CSI: Las Vegas"
News: OConnor Helps Crescenzo Raise the Bar of Visual Excitement on "CSI: Las Vegas"Keeping a hit television show that’s been on the air for 14 years fresh and interesting is a demanding challenge. As scripts get bigger to sustain audience interest, budgets inevitably get smaller. “When a show reaches syndication, it has primarily done its job of crossing the finish line of making money for a very long time,” says "CSI" cinematographer Crescenzo Notarile, ASC. “So, why spend more when the networks, at this point, don’t have to. It’s a creative challenge to keep the audience coming back with what we have. It’s not making more – it’s making the freshest. Working with OConnor and it’s support equipment, it keeps us cameramen perpetually perfecting camera movement and striving higher to express a story. Each week we try to creatively surpass what we did in the previous episode, and in our own way, raise the bar – if not for the audience, for ourselves as filmmakers. And, I can always count on OConnor to be there to help me make this possible.”

Canon EOS C300 Cinema Cameras Deliver Super-Heroic Image Quality and Precision Performance for Complex Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Visual Effects Sequences
The latest achievement in motion picture visual effects, Marvel’s "Iron Man 3" thrilled audiences with astonishing visuals, many of which were created by superimposing computer graphic imagery (CGI) on to live-action stunt footage. Challenged by the precise matching those visual elements required, the "Iron Man 3" effects team relied on the outstanding image quality and mobility of EOS C300 Cinema cameras from Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions. Featuring Emmy® Award winning Canon Super 35mm CMOS image sensor technology for full 1920 x 1080 HD capture, and a highly mobile camera body weighing just over 3 lbs., six Canon EOS C300 camera’s served as “witness cameras” for accurate close-up tracking of stunt actors’ movements. The footage captured using Canon EOS C300 cameras was then used by visual effects facilities as a reference to convincingly overlay photorealistic CGI of Iron Man armor and other imagery on to main-camera footage.
