(London, UK. 24 May 2006) In NUT CRACKERS, Mr. Peanut, Planters beloved icon falls in love not once — but twice — in these stunning new ads created for Planters directed by Studio aka’s Marc Craste & Philip Hunt. Commissioned by FCB New York, the spots were created in 3D using Softimage Xsi and pay homage to big city love stories. Romantic sunset shots, over-the-top charm and classic love clichés provide the perfect setting for Mr. Peanut with his new found loves, “Cashew” and “Pistachio.”
In SKYSCRAPER, Mr. Peanut races through a beautiful, twilit city accompanied by violins, in search of his true love – a Pistachio as it turns out. Cue starry skies, a ‘clinch’ and a very happy ending. In TRAIN, Mr. Peanut makes a determined dash through a busy terminus convinced he has missed the train carrying his beloved er, Cashew, away from him... Luckily for him, she never got on that train. Love it seems, is nuts, actually.
