(Singapore --20 July 2006) The inaugural CG Overdrive - Asia’s largest computer graphics conference - held in Singapore at the Singapore Expo from 14 – 16 July 2006 was a sell-out success, with 1,000 delegates from 17 countries attending the 3-day conference.|
The complementing CG Overdrive Festival program of exhibition, software clinics, digital film screenings, digital art gallery and recruitment overdrive was enthusiastically received by the participants, attracting another 1,000 participants to the event.

CG Overdrive Conference
CG Overdrive 2006 Conference consists Artist Workshops and Knowledge Workshops, spanning three days. Delegates interacted and engaged in the learning of applications and techniques from 12 leading industry experts hailed from Hollywood, Europe and Asia, with the sessions covering a comprehensive range of topics in the areas of computer graphics, animation and gaming.
CG Overdrive Festival
The CG Overdrive Festival presented the complete computer graphics experience, presenting solutions and knowledge for delegates to create their own CG mastery. The Exhibition featured industry solutions from AMD, Adobe Systems, Seagate, Wacom, Apple among others. The Software Clinics provided workshops on software applications such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Shake, Adobe.
Recruitment Overdrive was one of the highlights at the Festival, with renowned studios like Polygon Pictures (Japan), Lucasfilm Animation Singapore, Infinite Frameworks, Ksatria Gameworks, Cubix International, Republic Polytechnic from Singapore, exhibiting to recruit talents from the Asian CG industry. The result was 3 days of recruitment talks, intimate interviews and discussions, with delegates and visitors presenting their portfolio and demonstrations for a chance to work for these celebrated studios.
Visitors were also treated to a Digital Film Screenings of 15 digital films and animation, which were shown alongside professional works from international studios. At the Digital Art Gallery, 15 short listed public entries and 15 professional works were also showcased with great interest from the public. The showcase was the result of a global search for the most outstanding and innovative animated films and digital artwork, handpicked by the esteemed panel of judges from an overwhelming 400 submissions from all over the world.

CG Overdrive, a conduit for the constellation of the finest 3D digital artists, is an initiative to raise the quality standards and profile of Asian’s Digital Animation and Computer Graphics industry. The event will serve as a catalyst to attract more talents into the industry and to raise the level of awareness of CG and digital media art in Asia. The event is initiated by 3dsense Media School, the leading Media Institution in Asia known for its professional training in Digital Animation and Interactive Visual Arts and will be an annual show anchored in Singapore beginning in the Year 2006.
