(ADELAIDE, Australia, November 27, 2006) Rising Sun Research, a developer of innovative solutions for dynamic media industries, announced today the worldwide release of cineSpace™ 2.5, the highly anticipated new version of the industry leading colour management system.
With the latest release, cineSpace™ delivers significant improvements in digital projector calibration, plus greater flexibility when profiling broadcast displays. New black point correction algorithms ensure that subtle shadow detail is preserved on LCD monitors, addressing a major challenge facing VFX facilities today.
cineSpace™ 2.5 offers support for over two dozen industry hardware and software tools through standalone applications, 3D LUTs, plugins and direct integration. Latest additions include a new plugin for Nucoda Film Master and an integrated cineSpace™ option for da Vinci's Resolve. An integrated solution for CHROME Imaging's Matrix Compositing has recently been announced and there will be others to come during 2007.
As with previous versions, the cineSpace™ 2.5 toolset is complemented by a custom film profiling service that ensures a precise match to each facility's unique film out path. This complete solution is making it simple for facilities of all sizes to achieve an accurate and consistent colour pipeline.
"It's a great, bulletproof system that has eliminated nearly all of the aggravation of managing a feature film color pipeline," enthuses Eric J. Robertson, VFX Supervisor at Brainstorm Digital. "Its ease of use and technical accuracy ensure the precise relationship between monitor and film print for true color fidelity in the feature film pipeline."
"The number one benefit is confidence - from the artists AND from the director," explains Pieter Van Houte, Compositing Supervisor at Django Films. "We know that what we see on our screens will be exactly what we will see on the big screen, which makes decision making a lot smoother."
"We are very proud of this latest cineSpace release," states Clint Walker, CEO, Rising Sun Research. "Its broad capabilities and flexible implementation mean that facilities are able to adapt cineSpace to their own unique pipelines, rather than the other way around. We're committed to not only expanding the feature set, but to working closely with partners to ensure that cineSpace's benefits can be harnessed in an even wider range of industry tools."
cineSpace 2.5 is available immediately from Rising Sun Research and authorised resellers worldwide, and runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and IRIX platforms. For more information visit http://cinespace.risingsunresearch.com
