(June 6, 2007-SAN DIEGO-BUSINESS WIRE) DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX) today announced its sponsorship of Pixelodeon 2007, an annual independent video festival recognizing innovation, inspiration and community in global online video.
The festival will be held June 9-10 at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Pixelodeon 2007 brings together both old and new media to discuss the transformation of the entertainment landscape in a way that appeals to anyone who is passionate about film. Topics discussed at the event will include digital rights management, copyright and file sharing, as well as innovative ways consumers can access digital content. The video festival will introduce independent content creators who use the Internet to build communities and engage audiences, and highlight new video technologies that help audiences access content they want by eliminating barriers between filmmakers and end users.
In addition to financial sponsorship, DivX will also host Pixelodeon festival video on DivX Stage6™ and provide coverage of the events for those unable to attend the Los Angeles event. Mr. Greenhall will speak on Saturday, June 9 at 11:30 a.m. Festival tickets cost US $60, and guarantee a seat at all four keynote addresses and all film screenings.
