Major tech education conference and SkillsUSA Championships will be viewed throughout the US and the world via the Internet

(Kansas City, Mo. June 20, 2007) NewTek, manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, announces that SkillsUSA has chosen the NewTek TriCaster™ PRO to produce and stream highlights of its 43rd annual National Leadership and Skills Conference from June 25 to 29, via its Web site.

The conference, which supports quality career and technical education, will be attended by more than 14,000 students, teachers, education leaders, and representatives from more than 1,100 national corporations, trade associations, businesses and labor unions. The conference will take place at several locations throughout Kansas City, Missouri including the H. Roe Bartle Conference Center, the American Royal/Kemper Arena, the Municipal Auditorium and the Marriott and Radisson Hotels.

The SkillsUSA Championships is a national-level competition for public high school and college/postsecondary technical students enrolled in trade, technical and skilled service profession instructional programs, including allied health occupations. SkillsUSA organizes this event, and it is considered the single greatest day of industry volunteerism in America every year, at an estimated cost of more than $30 million. Each SkillsUSA Championships contestant is a state-level gold medalist.

" Our annual conference and competition have a tremendous impact on the lives of technical education students today and in the future, and our ability to increase our audience via the Internet is vital to our efforts to reach more students and strengthen the future of the more than 30 occupations we support," said Mo Broom, Representative, SkillsUSA.

" The Internet Television revolution is more than watching broadcast television content over the internet. By streaming the SkillsUSA events with TriCaster PRO™, friends and families from all over the world can celebrate the achievements of these students." said Philip Nelson, NewTek's VP Sales and Video Marketing.

The easy-to-use interface of TriCaster PRO is designed without video jargon, allowing users who aren't video professionals to produce quality live presentations, Web casts and video. With more than 200 transition effects, PowerPoint support, template driven titles, real-time switching and editing, TriCaster PRO allows the user to bring dynamic live elements to their presentations within minutes of opening the box. In addition to enabling users to produce presentations that have the impact of live television, TriCaster PRO allows simultaneous distribution to Video, Internet and Projectors.
