(San Antonio, Texas -- October 17, 2007) NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, announced today that its TriCaster STUDIO portable live production suite will be used by FOXSports.com and MLB.com to conduct their recently-announced live Web casts of pre-game and post-game shows for Major League Baseball's World Series and American League Championship Series.
The half-hour Web casts, featuring FOX Sports' Chris Myers, Harold Reynolds of MLB.com and Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, will be available on FOXSports.com on MSN and MLB.com before and after the televised pre- and post-game coverage of each contest. A complete schedule of streamed events is listed below.
“We had great success at the MLB All-Star Game earlier this year, and will once again offer fans a well-produced television show on the Internet, including interviews, features and insights into each crucial game of the ALCS and World Series,” said Clark Pierce, VP, Graphics & Special Projects, FOX Sports. “Fox Sports is always looking for ways to add value to our broadcasts for viewers, and the TriCaster STUDIO delivers exciting possibilities for extending our coverage to the Web with a broadcast look and feel.”
TriCaster enables sports organizations, corporate communications departments, broadcasters, schools and others to provide a whole new level of extended programming and content to their fans, partners and other audiences. Now, a single operator can produce a live show switching between as many as six cameras with two VCR’s, multi-channel effects, and NewTek’s proprietary virtual sets and keying technology using TriCaster.
“It’s truly exciting to be part of the premier event of America’s Pastime,” said Philip Nelson, NewTek’s Senior Vice President, Strategic Development. “TriCaster makes it possible for FOX to engage MLB fans with interesting new content and increase online advertising revenue.”
The Major League Baseball American League Championship Series and World Series live Web cast coverage produced with TriCaster STUDIO will include game highlights, player interviews and analysis, and will also be archived for on-demand viewing via FOXSports.com and MLB.com.
